The Kickstart Scheme is a project launched by the government to help employers and young jobseekers by providing funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24 years olds who are currently on Universal Credit.
Here at KRG we offer the Kickstart Scheme, giving those the opportunity to join us in our office and be taken through our training programme. This will introduce employees to the fundamentals of being a Recruitment Consultant- with no previous recruitment experience necessary. After 2-6 months of training, there will be the opportunity to earn a full-time contract where successful applicants will get to work on developed patches and start earning commission as well as their basic salary of £20,000.
The kickstart scheme we offer is beneficial for those claiming Universal Credit, allowing them to get paid more than they would receiving the standard allowance. Furthermore, enabling them to begin a new career in recruitment, develop skills and experience within the workplace, and inevitably contribute to KRG’s success- it’s a win win!!
It’s great for those who have recently left college/university etc with no experience, who are ultimately beginning their career; this scheme enables us to take on young workers without enforcing their commitment to permanent roles.
We currently have 4 consultants working for KRG who all joined via the Kickstart Scheme this year and are continuously developing and excelling in their recruitment journey. They successfully source new clients, place candidates, and manage existing relationships, with one receiving a promotion within his first 6 months of working with us and another moving onto his own patch next month.
Quotes from our Kickstart employees:
“Coming into Recruitment I didn’t know what to expect and how long it’ll last. The Kickstart scheme provided an amazing opportunity to get a foot in the industry and see what it’s like. You hear the recruitment horror stories of being over worked paired with unachievable targets, KRG is not this! I am now coming up to my 3-month mark and it’s been a blast”.
“Being an employee who has started on the Kickstart scheme has been great! The experience has been, well, normal. Being given an opportunity like this out the back end of COVID was unexpected. I’ve learnt loads in the past 6 months and I’m now specialising in the world of Paid Media as a recruitment executive with my own patch of England which is great!”
So, if you are aged 16-25, receiving Universal Credit and have an interest in recruitment, please get in touch with Rosie on rosie@krg.co.uk to find out more about this exciting opportunity!!
